About this item

Our premium alpaca dryer balls are handmade on our small family farm in Southwest Washington, where we sustainably source from our very own herd with no added chemicals or dyes.

WHY ALPACA DRYER BALLS?

We started making these dryer balls after discovering that many of our friends and customers with sensitive skin couldn't use traditional wool dryer balls because of lanolin allergies. Alpaca fiber is naturally hypoallergenic, incredibly soft, and more durable than wool, making it the perfect alternative for anyone looking to eliminate chemicals from their laundry routine.

Reduces drying time by up to 30%, naturally softens fabrics, and eliminates static cling without any harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances. They're reusable for over 1,000 loads, which means one set can last you 2-4 years of regular use.

The more balls you use, the faster your clothes dry and the softer they become. For large capacity dryers or heavy items like comforters, consider using 6-8 balls total. Colors will vary.

WHY ALPACA INSTEAD OF WOOL?

We love working with alpaca fiber for several reasons. Unlike sheep's wool, alpaca fiber contains no lanolin, the oil that can trigger allergies and leave a "wet wool" smell in your dryer. Alpaca is also naturally antimicrobial and odor-resistant, so your balls stay fresh load after load.

These animals are gentle on the land, and their fiber is one of the most sustainable textile materials available. By choosing alpaca, you're supporting both our small farm and the local ranchers we partner with.

WHAT MAKES OUR DRYER BALLS DIFFERENT

Each ball is 100% alpaca fiber, individually handmade, and felted to ensure it holds its shape through hundreds of uses. We've been perfecting our technique for years, and we're confident you'll notice the difference in quality.

Unlike mass-produced dryer balls, ours are made in small batches with attention to detail. We inspect every ball before it ships to make sure it meets our standards for density, roundness, and durability.

HOW TO USE THEM

Using alpaca dryer balls is simple. Toss 2-6 balls into your dryer with your wet laundry and dry as usual, no special settings needed. The balls work by creating space between your clothes, allowing hot air to circulate more efficiently while naturally softening fabrics and reducing static.

Leave the balls in your dryer between loads, or store them in the included drawstring bag. If you'd like a light natural scent, add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil to each ball before use. Lavender and eucalyptus are popular choices among our customers.

A NOTE ON SUSTAINABILITY

One set of dryer balls replaces hundreds of single-use dryer sheets and eliminates the need for liquid fabric softener bottles. We package everything in recyclable materials, and at the end of their long life, alpaca dryer balls are completely biodegradable.

This is one of the reasons we started this business, we wanted to offer an alternative that's better for families and better for the planet.
PERFECT FOR GIFTING

These make thoughtful gifts for eco-conscious friends, new homeowners, college students, or anyone looking to reduce chemicals in their home. Many of our customers buy a set for themselves and come back to order more for family and friends.
